For those interested, We have finished the first two steps of a four step process for a major upgrade to the site. The hardest thing has been to keep all the functionality and data. Unfortunately there will be some data loss in the classifieds section of the site. The photogallery will keep the data but each member "might" loose their albums. We are hoping to be able to migrate these user albums manually since most don't publish directly to their album which will make it a relatively easy task.
The forum will remain the same.
The overall functionality will remain the same.
The improvements are:
Persistent log in sessions (Once logged in you can stay logged in)
Added Technical Data page
Adding the store back so you can get some really cool RHOG stuff
I am going to try to do a monthly article or solicit contributions for articles
Site wide search
Better Look & Feel
More usable administration controls
There are a few more that I cannot think of right now
This should be deployed by the end of February. At some point I will ask some of you to test the new site and comment on it for me. That may be within the next two weeks. If you want to test the new site then please send me an email. Thanks!
